Moles

FAQ's
Signs of moles include raised winding ridges, tunnels, and molehills showing loose disturbed soil pushed up from deep tunnels.
Moles feed on grubs, worms, insects, and larvae found in moist, nutrient-rich soil. They burrow seeking food sources.
This is a specialist job in reality, but trapping is most effective. Place scissor or harpoon style traps in main tunnel runs. Removing grubs and irrigating deeply can also make gardens less attractive.
Reduce soil moisture, eliminate grubs with nematodes, install wire mesh fencing 2 feet underground, and use vibration devices or mole repellents to deter mound building long-term.
Classic Sign Of A Mole Infestation
- Raised ridges - Long winding raised tunnels visible above their deep tunnels.
- Molehills - Circular mounds of loose dirt pushed up from underground tunneling.
- Shallow trenches - Visible depressed lines in the lawn where moles forage near surface.
- Heaved plants - Bulbs and seeds pushed upwards out of soil from tunneling below.
- Pet holes - Dogs and cats digging to pursue moles disrupting the garden
