Flea

FAQ's
Signs include flea dirt (feces) on their coat, skin irritation and scratching, tapeworm segments in stool, and live fleas seen jumping onto bedding or furniture.
Fleas live outdoors but get on pets who then bring them inside. They do not come from dirt or unclean homes. Any warm blooded animal, including humans, can carry fleas.
Treat all pets with vet-recommended prevention monthly. Vacuum thoroughly and wash pet bedding frequently. Use sprays or foggers containing insect growth regulators in areas pets frequent. But ideally if the problem persists, contact a specialist.
Check pets routinely for fleas during warmer months. Keep grass cut short and brush/rake around the home. Use veterinarian prescribed preventatives year round. Restrict wildlife access under porches and decks.
